Dr. Kloots has worked with children, adolescents, and parents for 25 years. She first worked as a teacher in special education for Los Angeles County Office of Education with students at the elementary, middle, and high school levels. She helped with the integration of her elementary students with challenging disabilities into the public school system in the LA County area. At that time, this was still more the exception than the norm. In addition to her role as teacher, she became an experienced advocate for her students and their parents by resolving conflicts and problems relating to the adjustment of students with disabilities in the school district.
